Hello, I have an ASUS VivoBook15 laptop for 1,5 year which has Windows 11. With last October update from Microsoft the version 24H2 I got an unpleasant surprise last week that my computer couldn´t shut down. I had to force it shut down . Troubleshot didn´t work and could not restart the computer. So I had to go through the full installation from my USB recovery disk(lucky I do it!). Even if the option to update was Off in my settings and I put delay on updates with 1 week, somewhere in the background, when I started the laptop, the Windows 11 update was already there, so no matter I had chosen to be asked to start updates only with my permission, it seems that the new version was loaded. Then, I lost two days to reinstall everything. windows, apps, files.
I read on net that both ASUS and DELL users have reported having troubles with last 24H2 version Win11 which is blocking the computers for not complete correct the shutting down or restart.
Does ASUS have a debug solution for this bug in Windows11? Is not funny to start reinstallation of all programs every month.

May I know the full model of the laptop you are using?

Since the system updates are provided by Microsoft, we also recommend that you report the issue to Microsoft as well.

Hello, I have already complained to Microsoft and they answer they are aware , apologize etc and recommend to disable the automatic Windows updates for the moment using services.msc comand. To answer to your question see enclosed the BIOS version from MYASUS program. It has Windows 11Home vers. 23H2.
