Request for Asus ROG Phone 1 complete kernel source

As far as I know Asus never released a complete kernel source for the original ROG Phone ZS600KL. It comes with some stuff missing such as sound(techpack/audio) modifications.

Please comply with the GPLv2 obligations and do a full release.

This product has been discontinued and is no longer within its original software maintenance cycle. As a result, we are unable to provide the related files. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

How can it be related to maintenance? It's just pull a hundred or two megabytes out of your git server and upload it to somewhere public, I'm not asking for any sort of software updates.

Please comply with the GPLv2 obligations and release a proper kernel source. After all it's because you never release a proper one that I'm asking it right now after the end of it's "original software maintenance cycle", whatever that means.

In the meanwhile zenfone 5z with the same soc still have it's functional kernel source published on your website. So please don't take maintenance as an excuse to cover up the reason you don't what to release the kernel.

Under GPLv2, all kernel source must be released—end of story. Discontinuation doesn’t exempt you from your legal duties. The ZenFone 5Z’s identical SoC has its full kernel available, so please stop hiding behind “maintenance windows” and publish the complete ROG Phone source. Doing so not only fulfills your obligations but also strengthens user trust and community collaboration.

Thanks for pointing this out. I fully agree—under GPLv2, the full source code, including all modifications like techpack/audio and speaker cleaner features, should be released. It's not just a legal requirement but also vital for developer support and community growth. Hopefully, ASUS will address this and provide the full kernel source soon.
