It is recommended that you first update it to a10 and then to a11 instead of directly jumping to a11.
Reason? idk either, just read few folks and mod talking about it.

Update your system to the last A9 firmware version -> Update to A10 -> Update to the last A10 firmware -> Update to A11.
All the necessary firmware packages can be found on the ROG Phone II support website.
