Does X mode affect gpu?

Since most games are gpu bound I was wondering if x mode (any of the 3 modes available in armoury crate) overclocks GPU in any way or if I should keep it disabled for better battery life

Oh huh okay. I was wondering that because with or without x mode on, on any mode I was still getting the same fps on a gpu bound game
