To my knowledge it has nothing to do with the phone book. I'm pretty sure you set the name during the install process and that you need to reset your phone to change this.

That's kind of unfortunate. I hope a future update allows us to change this without resetting the phone. Backing up all my data along with re-installing/re-downloading games I have with slow internet speed will take a good while..
