Android auto

I'm having issues when connecting my phone to my car that has Android auto installed. When I plug it in it will attempt to load but won't ever fully load. The music will start playing though which seems odd. My wife does not have any issues with her pixel 2 phone. I've tried multiple cables and I get the game issue.

Music will start but functionality is limited? I am assuming that you are on the latest firmware?
If this continues, we can log the phone and see what it is doing when it hangs but somehow starts playing music. @ me in your response if you'd like to log the phone.
