The website supports the codec Aptx Lossless, but the phone doesn’t. Why?

I got a reply from our team.
While it's not possible to see an indicator that shows you are using, it is normally activated if these requirements are fulfilled.

  1. aptX adaptive Lossless supported on both phone and headphones
  2. Music file format: 16-bit, 44.1kHz/48kHz sampling frequency etc.
  3. Wi-Fi disabled, or, Wi-Fi connects to 5G instead of 2.4G
  4. Users could use YT music to play 16-bit, 44.1kHz/48kHz sampling frequency format files on phone; may not be supported on live-stream music

Hello, the phone does support APTX, this is even confirmed by APTX's own website here: https://www.aptx.com/products/asus-rog-phone-9

It's possible that the headphones you are using are not supporting the Codec.

I can say with certainty that this codec isn't on my phone; I've attached a screenshot of all the available ones. I was at the headphone store yesterday; some of them support this codec, but my phone doesn't.

The photo you linked to is a standard 9. Some reviews say this codec is included in the FE version of the 8gen3 (screenshot attached). It's a shame the top-end gaming flagship doesn't support it. I hope you'll pass this information on to the developers, and they'll add this feature to the top-end phone as well.

In the screenshot, I've marked the headphones I want to order and use soon. I tried half of those headphones in the store, and the codec option wasn't available in the settings.

Hello @AEDIS

The Pro model does indeed support APTX too: https://www.aptx.com/products/asus-rog-phone-9-pro

As so does the FE too: https://www.aptx.com/products/asus-rog-phone-9-fe

There could be something else going on, will forward the info to the dev team to look into.
