Wifi on ROG 8 has a lower stability and higher latency

I have an ROG 6 and an ROG 8.  On the same wifi network and at the same location, although the ROG8 reports the same signal strength, the latency is greater with less stability and ranges from 60 to 100ms compared to a stable 30ms on the ROG 6.

I have tried restarting by holding the power button and volume down button until the phone restarts, but it does not seem to have helped.  Will there be a fix for this?

Tested with WiFi 5 at 3m from access point with direct line of sight.  Latency is still unstable ranging from 20 to 80ms, but at least useable without any drop outs.

Having dual band WiFi on will show the 2.4Ghz band not having internet access every so often, and does not seem to improve stability.

Hi @opop4444
Do you think you could create a log for the devs to look at? That way they can see what's going on. I'm writing the steps down below and when you are done please feel free to send me a PM with the link 🙂
************
Please follow the below steps to enable the built-in log tool (Bug reporter).
1.  Open “Calculator APP”
2.  Enter “.19595+=”
3.  Select the Log type according to the type of issue you want to capture. “Wi-Fi ”
4.  After your selection the log tool will exit so you can duplicate the issue or wait for it to happen. Try to use the screen recorder to show your issue when possible. If you can't screen record your issue, then please take a screenshot right after the issue has occurred (as a timestamp) so we know where to look in the log.
5.  Navigate back to the log tool via calculator and Tap "FINISH AND SHARE".
6. It takes several minutes for the log to generate. You can exit and do other stuff in the meantime. A silent notification will tell you once the process is done. Tap the notification and then the share button to upload the file to Google Drive and share the link with a moderator. Just make sure to change the permission first so that everyone with the link has permission to view it.
Note: When you're no longer planning on logging your device, enter “.09595+=” in the calculator and the log tool will stop as well as deleting all stored log files. Make sure to share via calculator. The files found in internal storage -> asus_log are not the correct files (they are only 1.2kb)

What's the name of the app you use to measure the WiFi? I would like to try it once I get the phone itself.

Testing on version 34.1420.1420.316, WiFi signals of 2.4Ghz are unable to connect at -70dBm which is supposed to be the minimum signal for reliable packet delivery.

Seems like this update has made WiFi connectivity even worse, previously at -70dBm signal latency was unable but was still able to connect.
