It's been bothering me since I got my 8 pro and I've been trying to live with it, but every time you swap between Instagram and any app, the screen freezes, I don't recall having this issue with any previous ROG phone, I wish this could get fixed.
I tested it but could not recreate your issue, have you tried clearing the cache for the Instagram app?, to do this you can longpress the app and select the (i) > Storage & cache > clear cache.
If this doesn't work then try deleting the app and re-downloading it.
