ROG Phone 8 Pro Dead

I purchased the ROG Phone 8 Pro (16GB/512GB variant) on 30th April 2024, and just four days after the warranty expired (04 May 2025), the motherboard died due to Software Update. ASUS quoted me a ridiculous repair cost of ₹61,000 (USD 710) – basically the price of a new phone!

ASUS boasts that ROG Phone is their "premium series", but I call it absolute garbage. Before this, I had bought the ROG Phone 5S, which also suffered a motherboard failure within warranty. The service center refused to repair it, falsely claiming "water damage" when there was none. Despite this horrible experience, I foolishly trusted ASUS again and bought the ROG Phone 8 Pro – only for it to die the same way.

ROG Phone is a joke of a brand—there’s nothing "premium" about it. Even budget brands like IQOO and Redmagic outperform this overpriced trash. I’m not promoting any brand here, just stating facts: ROG phones are a complete waste of money.

A company that makes motherboards for PCs has no business making phones—they clearly don’t know what they’re doing.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM ASUS ROG PHONES – UNLESS YOU ENJOY BURNING MONEY!

Atleast censored your email address...

Also only 1 year of warranty that is interesting one because most people have 2 years of warranty by default. So i don't know where you live but that a terrible policy.

EU might get two years.  Everywhere else is one year.

You lucky , you got a less quote , I have got an known issue for camera failure and back panel popping out and I will share you the quote

1500$ for repairing a camera module and which is a known issue, and Asus is not willing to agree. I have an Asus 5Z with the same camera problem. Trusting this company to buy all by products ..

Never a phone from this company
