Push notification issues Rog phone 8 pro

I love my phone as the battery is really good but I am struggling to get some notifications from some apps. The worst one is WhatsApp. People text away to me and I never get them unless I open the app.

I have do not disturb off, I have battery usage unrestricted and I have pause activity if not used off. 

Has anyone any ideas? Turning it on and off hasn't helped either.

I would appreciate some guidance.

Disable "Background app management" in the Battery settings.  It breaks everything and ignores your app battery settings.

Thanks, but I have that disabled also. As far as I am aware the notifications should appear as I have no controlling mechanism to stop them. Perhaps it is a whole phone setting I've put on. I just can't see why some are working and others aren't or it works now and again.

Any other ideas??

Try going into battery settings, select automatic running settings, check WhatsApp

Do you mean auto start manager and select WhatsApp to be allowed?
