Front camera option is missing in camera app

A few weeks ago, my ROG Phone 6 (global) started having issues with the camera, the front camera button would go missing and the pictures taken from the main camera looked weird.. I had to restart the phone to get them working again but overtime it got worse and the restarting did not help anymore. I figured it was a software issue so I cleared the cache of the camera which did not fix it and I wanted to clear the cache of the phone itself but couldnt as it was not unlocked nor rooted. I posted on xda and someone else told me that they had the exact same issue and it was a driver issue(?). The flashlight function does not work as well from the notification shade. Weird thing is the front camera works in apps like WhatsApp so I know it is working and it isnt a hardware issue. I thought it would be fixed with the A13 update, but it did not.

Could someone please assist me in this?

I had the same issues, but with latest update 33.0610.2810.157 it went away.
Will post if it reappears.

It reappeared. It is impossible this is a hardware bug, since after restart camera works for a bit.
Judging by the all the messages on 9 pages, I assume this wont be solved so the only solution is to return the phone and issue a refund.

One more workaround for anyone facing the same problems: After restart of the phone, app works, and every time I am finished with using the app I force kill it and clear the cache. After that I can open the app again and main camera works as well as the selfie one.

I can provide a support for any programmer working on this if someone from Asus is willing to fix this.

Having the same problem, I just recently sent this junk to the service center and had the motherboard replaced due to the camera not working as it flips and make weird noises. Now this issue, when will it end?

I can tell you what worked for me, what i did was this check the WhatsApp permission for camera.
