Leaving politics aside, I could be making this up, because Tencent Corp is a Mainland Chinese company, and the CN/Tencent ROG models are developed by Mainland Chinese Developers, so I think that is heavily related. Just like OnePlus device get the first 90FPS update, because OnePlus is a Mainland China company. ASUS is a Taiwanese company. So I could see favouritism here and to make a phone model the desired one.

The other way I can think of this is PUBG gets income by selling in-game stuff, so they would go for the popular brands first.

I agree with you, ronald1985 no it's not a mainland stuff. If you try whith any phone compatible with the 90fps it will work directly

Right, but how did OnePlus get the first 90FPS settings before anyone else did? There is some level of changes the game developer needs to make before releasing to other models.
Tencent Corp could of just released it as a BETA release and have it for all models. But why OnePlus first?
Mainland relations might not be the reason and I am not saying it is without hard evidence. It will be all money related.
