That's not exactly a unique idea Lenovo legion has had side pop up for 2 generations now and the legion lineup is being pushed entirely towards gamers and has been designed for best usability in landscape mode (there's even a internal fan this year)
Rog meanwhile is pushed to a broader audience of enthusiasts and power users so I don't think a side pop up would be that great on an rog plus then there's the second type c port the rog offers
