Asus Rog 5s, 3G shutdown VoLTE

Hi, I have a Rog 5s

I have the latest version and have enable VoLTE and done everything that has been asked of by my provider. "Telstra"

I have gone into phone settings and tried changing stuff but it is clear that Rog 5s makes only calls on 3G.

It still doesn't work, so I'm guessing this is an Asus problem that they hope they can ignore and it will just go away?

I am having the same issue on my 5s, so following this for updates. It looks like I am going to have to buy a new phone which I really don't want to do right now. I spent half the day yesterday with Telstra support. They have concluded that my phone will work. But I don't think it will. If I select 4g/5g only for calls they drop immediately. If I do the same thing on my partners Rog 6D it works perfectly. The only way my phone can make and receive calls currently is 3G so not confident it will change at the end of August.  Maybe I should look for a non ASUS phone for my next purchase. If anyone has a work around please share. Thanks 

I have the exact same issue. I contacted both Telstra and ASUS about the issue and the general response is "Sorry, the device has reached its EoL technical support". ASUS claimed that I can just enable this in the mobile settings but I didn't have any luck there either. I had a look at some other posts here and found some mobile codes that can supposedly force 4G but it did not help me. My guess there is going to be no assistance from either providers and no alternative telco networks.

I'm mostly just disappointed by the fact you can sell a phone in Australia (assuming your in Australia too) in 2022 (purchase year) without VoLTE calling

Yeah I am in Australia as well. I am starting to believe it is a Telstra decision about which phones they are allowing and which they are not. If the phone is 5g capable it should be allowed by them. But it is probably a ploy to blame it on the closure of 3G and force people to purchase a new phone and probably with them. I smell a class action lawsuit against Telstra coming on. Because I use my phone for my business, I can't wait to see if the Rog 5s works or not at the end of the month and then scramble to buy a new phone if it doesn't. Especially because I am getting the recording from Telstra whenever I make a call. I went ahead and just got a new one and opted for a Galaxy for the first time in over 10 years with ASUS. I figure support will be better for a mass produced phone then ASUS. Just annoying as I didn't want to spend the money right now and my old phone works just fine and only around 1yr old!

I'm stuck in that boat at the moment. I have my 5s and I am planning to talk to JB about the issue. I had an extended warranty on the device and plan on mentioning that it is "a hardware restriction preventing me from using the device to its full capacity as a phone".  No guarantees on their response to this, but if it doesn't end well i will probably just trade in the phone for a galaxy or pixel pro sometime in the next month (i got a budget phone a while back that still supports 4g calls so ill keep one in my bag and one in my pocket).
