lan61tUpdate :
I went to Asus Service Center Indonesia in Jakarta, they done these steps below :
- Clean the connector on the case : using eraser to clean up the connector, because they said it’s a bit dirty
- Found that there’s one connector on the kunai 3 that not aligned.
- update firmware by connecting Kunai 3 using usb c to c to the side port.
a few hours of use, so far no more analog dialog poped up, kunai 3 is working with blue tooth, kunai 3 is is working with bumper case.
They told me if problem occured, i have to leave ROG3 + Kunai, because they suspected that there’s somthing wrong with ROG3 connectors that might short circuit Kunai3.
In the mean time, i’m testing it for a while.
My suggestion would be to visit your nearest Asus Service Center.
They informed me that they for all acessories, that their policy is actually to replace with a new one during warranty time. Outside of warranty time, they can only try to repair it, but they dont specifically tell me, what happened if they cant repair it.
Asus official guys maybe care to explain it a bit more.
A few things that i want to ask you guys, please check the screws on the side of the bumper case, mine has turned a bit rusty only after 2 weeks of use. They said the screws have to be black. Is this happened only to mind or anyone else also have this condition?

Guys, I have the same issue and I solve it my self already. It happend to my Kunai 3 on ROG phone 2 often disconnected and can't update right side of the controller cause failed every time.
After see all the reply, i try to solve ir my self and it work.
First, you need small screwdriver, isopropyl alcohol, small brush, and tissue.
Second, unscrew the phone holder on the side, all 3 screw every side and open it carefully.
As in my screen shot
Third, spay or apply small amount of isopropyl alcohol on the contact copper and clean it using brush. (note: the brush must be dry and clean otherwise it's just make it worst). And clean the copper with tissue. Repeat this step at least 3 time.
Fourth, put it back together and see if it connected and seen in hardware information.
Overall, I think it's just connection problem since it can't connected with bad contact plat.
As in my screenshot, it seen right controller version is detected as 3.1.0 not ff.ff.ff and i try to use it for awhile it work properly. Although idk why my system read it as Kunai 2 but at least it work.

I've had this issue in the past. A fix I've found is to plug in the gamepad directly into the slot using the speedcharger cord and attempting to update the controller software that way.
