Hello. i have rog 3 that has been turned off for about 2 years.  I charged it to 100% and tried to boot it. The Android logo appears, then the ROG logo, then the loading strip for a few seconds.... after which the screen turns black. If i press the volume button, i get the volume control on screen (it's orange). if i press the power button, i get a menu with three buttons: Emergency, power off, restart.

see attached video

I haven't been able to find any help on this particular problem. Any help is appreciated

Hello! It sounds like your ROG Phone 3 is stuck in a partial boot state. The fact that you can access the volume control and power menu suggests the operating system isn’t fully loading but the basic firmware is functional. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Soft Reset

  • Press and hold the Power button until the device restarts. This can sometimes clear minor boot issues.

2. Boot into Safe Mode

  • Press and hold the Power button until the power menu appears.
  • Tap and hold Restart until you see the "Reboot to Safe Mode" option. If the phone boots successfully, a third-party app (like PicsArt Pro APK or others) may be causing the issue. Uninstall recently installed or suspect apps.

3. Clear Cache Partition

  • Boot into Recovery Mode:
    1. Power off the device completely.
    2. Press and hold the Volume Down + Power button until the ASUS logo appears.
    3. Use the Volume buttons to navigate and select Wipe Cache Partition.
    4. Confirm with the Power button.
  • This will clear temporary files without affecting your data.

4. Perform a Factory Reset (if Safe Mode doesn’t work)

  • Follow the same steps to boot into Recovery Mode but select Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
  • Note: This will erase all data, so proceed only if you have backups or no other options work.

5. Check for Firmware Issues

  • If none of the above works, your device firmware may be corrupted.
  • Visit the official ASUS website, download the latest firmware for the ROG 3, and follow their instructions to flash the firmware.

6. Professional Assistance

  • If you’re unable to resolve the issue yourself, reach out to ASUS support. Since the device was off for a long time, there might be hardware concerns like a drained or damaged battery.
