The front facing camera doesn't work anymore. There is nothing covering it. The rear camera works fine but when I select to use the front it gives me a black screen with the interface for a few seconds then crashes to the home screen without any error report.

Try clearing cache n storage of ur camera app from settings>apps & notification>camera>storage>clear cache>ok>clear storage >ok
Also try to check safe mode if camera behaves same to go safe mode - press lock button for few seconds u will get option to shut down n reset tap on shut down for few seconds and phone will notify you to entre safe mode click ok and phone will restart also wana close safe mode simply restart ur phone
Also try open camera app>settings>reset to default n check if it solves issue
What about third party apps is it same?
