Error in S/N!

Hi all, we just bought two mesh routers XT8 and they are amazingly fast!

However, we cannot register the S/N with Asus: Although it recognizes the router type when typing in the S/N on the backside of the router, when submitting it we get the message that the /N is incorrect, hence we cannot register the product!

We don't have any doubts that we have typed in the correct S/N - so what can be the problem... and what to do?
