Hi, I have my PC connected directly in port 1 on the ZenWiFi XT9 router, and every time I start my PC, it takes a long time to find the network and connect to internet, like 30-60 secs before it's ready. When I plug my PC to the hub which is connected to port 2 on the router, the network connection is 'instant', ie. it is already connected to internet when I get to the windows login screen, and good to go as soon as its finished booting up. It doesn't matter if I assign a static IP in the router settings or not. Does anyone know why this is so?

I have a 10 GbE PCIe card and it exhibits similar issue depending on firmware. The built in 1 GbE is instant I guess since it is on the motherboard. Not sure if this is helpful but I noticed that when I was doing some work on my network and used the 1 GbE port instead of move the cable...

Thx man, but I only have 1Gb Lan connector on my pc. The issue is resolved if I connect the ethernet cable through the hub instead of using one of the ports directly on the router, and was mostly curious to find out why this happens and if it's possible to resolve.

It's likely the XT9 firmware. Please check and make sure you have the latest which I see is 3.0.0.4.388_24768. Eventually a firmware update should help resolve this.

As mentioned earlier, I have already updated the firmware in the router to the latest release, unfortunately without any effect on the issue at hand.

Hi chax000 🙂 Did you find a soulution? I have the exact same problem 😕 Every time I wake up my computer, or restart it, it takes a couple of minutes before it actually makes a connection to the internet 😞
