Wired problem

I have the GT-AX11000 as my main router; this is upstairs in the back bedroom. Downstairs in the front living room is my ASUS ROG Rapture GT6, so do I need to run an internet cable between each router so I can make my laptop wired, or can I somehow do it a better way?

Use any AX11000 LAN port with your laptop. If you have greater than 1Gb Internet service use the 2.5 LAN port.

If you should need to wire the AX11000 mesh node to the Gt 6 main, use it's WAN port to any LAN port on the GT 6 main.

You should be able to use the GT 6 as the main and run the AX11000 as a wireless mesh node. If the distance between them isn't too great for their signals to connect with a strong connection, you should be good to go with full 5GHz client wired or wireless connections at the AX mesh node for your computer @2.4Gb rates. At any rate, your Gt6 should be the main - even if the two are wired together.

Just use the ASUS app to add the AX11000 as a mesh node to the GT 6.

My GT-AX11000 is the main one; I have had it for years. I know it's old, but that should not matter; it's still good so what slot at the back do I plug my cable into for my laptop

Thanks, all working now
