I currently have the XD4 acting as a mesh network and connected to the AC68U via ethernet WAN but if my pc is connected to the mesh I cannot access the DSL-AC68U or anything it is connected to (eg I have a connected usb drive I need to access) and if I connect to the DSL-AC68U then I cannot access the mesh network or any devices on it (eg wireless printer). The DSL-AC68U can act as a mesh hub I believe so is there any way to use that as the master with the XD4 system all being nodes or a sub network???
For example should I designate the AC68U as the DNS server??
If not possible can I at least incorporate the AC68U into the mesh network? For example by changing it to look at the 1800 as the DNS server?
Do not want to simply test out various ideas as no doubt the family would resent losing internet connection! Hence seeking some pointers!

You may be experiencing an issue that I've read online before difficulty adding a ZenWiFi node to AiMesh router that is non-ZenWifi. The XD4 node, and all other nodes, should be assigned an IP address from the DSL router's DHCP server, and act like an Access Point, so since you clarified your DSL IP as 192.168.1.1 all AiMesh nodes will be 192.168.1.xxx, where xxx could be 2-20 as you noted your range. Properly set up as AiMesh node access among all devices regardless of which "node", including the DSL router, should be readily available. As a temporary workaround you can set all nodes as Access Points, which would disable AiMesh, but provide the universal access you wanted...

Apologies the XD4 allocates up to 192.168.50.254 for its connections

Thanks jzchen, I will try this out but in a couple of weeks when I have the house (and therefore internet) to myself! Will report back on here as to how I get on - you never know it may help someone else... I am new to this mesh stuff but prefer to keep it as a mesh as the house is on 3 floors. Used to have APs and also Powerline but these never gave reliable coverage.
