RT-BE92u issues

I bought the RT-BE92u next week and had following issues after setting up the router.

Firmware version 3.0.0.6_102_37025-g530f5da_954-gd3ae6

1. VPN Server IPSec Client connect may cause the router reboot itself, even sometimes can connect but cannot browser the internet.

2. If any clients joined the 6hz channel. It will not possible to turn off Smart Connect to manually adjust the Wifi channels settings. Click Smart Connect OFF button and then Apply but no response, cannot switch to the Channels setting page until all clients disconnect from the 6hz channel.

2. One of the CPU coil always stay at 100% usage. It may happen on any of 4 coils randomly. Reboot the router may fix but not absolutely work.

4. Adjust settings may hang the router, need manually power off and on.

Any members had these issues ? I had reported to Asus support but no positive reply, just telling me they had no such issues.

Thanks in advance.

I just got this Router too and I'm having lots of stability issues as well.

Mine will crash and take about 10 minutes to recover several times a day.

I think it was worse with the MLO feature on and I can't see any advantage to it just yet. I can already achieve 1.1Gb Internet access without it.

Although I notice that the 5GHz network doesn't seem to operate at 160MHz bandwidth despite the setting being on. Clients that were fine using 160MHz with the GT-AXE16000 now only run at 80MHz and therefore half the speed they should.

6GHz is fine for me.

Definitely seems like buggy firmware. The question is, is it worth logging a call with support or are they already gathering telemetry from our routers to see these issues?

The RAM is always full it seems. I am wondering if they have built enough RAM into this thing.

Did anyone try the beta firmware option to see if there is another version available?

After I did the firmware update it was buggy but I didn't two hard resets and didn't change any of the settings besides enabled AI protection.  It has been 72 hours and it's working fine without any issues.  See if you can do that and have similar results although most people wouldn't put up with something that isn't plug and play .  Let us know how you end up.

Things got worse yesterday when I woke up to no Internet and subsequent crashing increased in frequency throughout the day. It got to the point where switching off and on didn’t result in a recovery. The web UI ground to a very painful response time of about 30 seconds per click.

The web UI factory reset didn’t work. It essentially failed to implement.

I then did the reset button at the back and to my surprise and delight, normal behaviour occurred. In fact, it was a lot more responsive and the lag I was seeing in accessing other web pages has also gone.

Cannot believe that config corruption occurred on day one for me. I didn’t expect the basic reset to help but was clearly wrong on this occasion.

Have been able to restore all of my desired features and SSID’s. Fingers crossed that’s my troubles over.

Glad to hear that!  I was equally surprised when the hard reset worked for me.  Yesterday I had to actively reconnect with my smartphone but day 4 and still no issues.  Everyone has been home so plenty of data usage and devices being connected and disconnected.  I will say my max speed is 20% slower than prior firmware and hard reset but I will take stability over speed.  Still at 1 Gbit though.

My BE92u gone dead twice when I changing Web UI settings last week and yesterday.. The router freeze suddenly and only Power LED light up forever after power off and on and it stopped booting up. Normal reset and firmware restore didn't work. Finally bought back to life after WPS reset. Luckily that I had backup the configurations.
