AX6600 wifi light is red

JAMotter

I have an Asus AX600Tri Band Wifi Model XT8 router system. When my system goes down or acts up, I unplug everything from the model on out, then after a few minutes plug everything back in sequentially.  Usually this works, but not this time.  On my most remote unit (I am not sure what to call it) the light starts out flashing green, then goes to red.  I have tried several times to reset things, but without success.

What is likely the problem?  How should I fix this problem

Please help.

Hi @JAMotter ,

Thank you for providing information about the abnormal light on your ASUS AX600Tri Band Wifi XT8 router.

To better understand and resolve this issue, we would like to clarify a few points:

  • Location of the abnormal light: Are you experiencing the abnormal light on the main router (the router that is directly connected to the modem) or on an AiMesh node (the other routers connected to the main router)?
  • Network connection status:
  1. If it's the main router: If the main router's light turns solid red, it usually means that it cannot connect to the internet. You can refer to ASUS's official FAQ: [Troubleshooting] Failed Internet access through router | Official Support | ASUS Global for more detailed troubleshooting.
  2. If it's an AiMesh node: If the node's light turns solid red, this usually means that the node has been configured to use a wired connection to the main router (Ethernet backhaul) but is not actually connected using a network cable.

For detailed explanations of the lights, you can refer to the following link:
