Asus RT-AX86U Router DDNS not working

Hi, I recently reset my Asus RT-AX86U router. But after doing so, I am no longer able to create a working DDNS domain. Below is what I am seeing.

How to fix this?, I even tried using other domain that are unique at best, but it still kept showing this error.

I also unlinked/unbinded my old router to my google account in the asus router app already and re-link the new routers config, yet it still shows this too. I no longer have any idea how I could get my DDNS to work again. Any ideas how this could be fixed?.

Am also having this issue with a brand new RT-AX57 router that I specifically purchased for someone because it had a free DDNS built-in.   It does nothing when you attempt to setup the DDNS address when logged directly into the router via the browser.  Not impressed, as I have setup dozens of Asus routers and never encountered this, and this is preventing me from setting up the OpenVPN server - the other reason I purchased this router.

I also retried creating a DDNS just now. Issue still occurs and wouldn't allow me to create a DDNS server, but error changed from Authorization related error to "Failed connecting to DDNS server (HTTPS)" and will always keep on retrying since then and show that error as response.

Now I am guessing the Asus DDNS server is down and is down over the holidays. Hopefully someone from Asus here confirms so.

I had the same issue just recently after attempting to reset my router and start from scratch. Check on your router’s status page to see if you have a valid MAC address? Mine was set to 00:00:00:00:00:00 - AKA it was wiped as part of malware/hack from more than likely having AICloud enabled. My WiFi lights were also not lit up anymore either. My theory is that it shows unauthorized when attempting to register a DDNS because you look invalid to Asus without a valid MAC address.

See this forum thread for details. There are a few people you can message there (see page 15/16 for example) on help on restoring.

After someone helped restore my router, I was able to register a DDNS again. This was a few days ago and working great still.

Hope this helps
