ATTEMPT 3 to upgrade firmware

ASUS RT-AX68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24646,

Garbage firmware, just wasted 3 hours of troubleshooting.

- Improved AiMesh backhaul stability. is in the notes LOL. Ethernet backhaul is completly broken, nodes wont connect, try to only conect with 2.4, but terrible connection even when 5 feet away.

2 rx55 aimeshed to a ax68u.... just updated because it was a new update and saw some fixes that would be nice. Took down the whole system. Hard reset all 3, started from scratch, ETHERNET BACKHAUL does not work, either with the feature in "on mode" or simply choosing the priority backhaul.... it grabs the connection and loses.

Back to old firmware, ASUS RT-AX68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.21732, back in the game.

AVOID

Hi @thesss6969 ,

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your nodes not connecting after updating the firmware.

Here are some details we need to better assist you in resolving the issue:

  1. Please confirm if both your router and node models are RT-AX68U.
  2. Can you provide feedback on both wired and wireless connections when the nodes fail to connect? This will help our backend team for reference and analysis.
  3. Have you confirmed that the signal cable is installed correctly? Please check if the signal cable is inserted properly and making good contact.
  4. Have you tried restoring the nodes to factory settings? If so, please provide feedback and the MAC address on whether the issue still occurs after performing this operation.

You can provide feedback by following these steps:

  1. Connect your device to the router and log in to the Web GUI (http://www.asusrouter.com).
  2. Find the "Administration" option and click on "Feedback".
  3. Fill in your region, email (required), ASUS service number/case number (optional), select the feedback issue, and describe the problem. You can also provide your feedback/suggestions. More details may help us analyze your issue faster and more effectively.
  4. Read the agreement and click "I agree".
  5. Click "Submit" to send your feedback.

Then, please provide the product serial number, the time of submitting the issue report, the email used to fill out the issue report, and the time when the issue occurred via private message.

Thank you for your cooperation!
