AiMesh setup with RT-AX86U and ZenWiFi XT8

Having an RT-AX86U router and a two pack ZenWiFi XT8, what would be the recommended setup for AiMesh? The following options are under consideration at the moment:

- RT-AX86U as the main router and the XT8 as AiMesh nodes trough wireless backhaul.

- One XT8 as the main router with wireless backhaul to the other XT8 and ethernet backhaul to the RT-AX86U.

I'm assuming the one "RT-AX68U" is a typo.  I'd run one of the XT8s as primary router, the 2nd option...
