XMP I or XMP II ?

Asus ProArt Z890-CREATOR
Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor
2x Crucial Pro RAM 48GB Kits / DDR5 6000MHz (on QVL list)

Today I enabled the XMP I option in the BIOS as the system has been running trouble free since December 5 (Windows10 Pro-64) and it was time to run the RAM to its rated 6000MHz spec.  I chose XMP I as it's the first on the list of choices and is what is demonstrated in the ASUS support video: "How to optimize the Memory performance by setting XMP(XMP Tweaked) or EXPO or DOCP in BIOS".

In the video there's an explanation of the XMP I and XMP Tweaked options but no mention of when and why a user would choose XMP II instead of XMP I. The BIOS manual provides a brief description of each but no  reason(s) to select one over the other.

Any insight would be appreciated 🙂

BTW, the system appears to be running stable using XMP I.

Hello @RP22

Thank you for reaching out to us. We apologize for the delayed response due to a public holiday in our region and any inconvenience this may have caused.
When set to "XMP I", the system loads the DIMM’s default XMP memory timings (CL, TRCD, TRP, TRAS) along with the BCLK frequency and other memory parameters optimized by ASUS. In contrast, "XMP II" applies the overclocking parameters provided by the memory manufacturer.

For more details, please refer to page 19 of the BIOS manual.

Thank you.
