Prime Z390A Stop or Freezing when after boot or after load windows

hi, When a dedicated graphics card is used in the Asus Prime Z390A motherboard, such as Rtx2060 or Rx 5700xt and the like, when loading Windows or when loading the system after booting, the system stops and freezes. In Nvidia graphics cards, it can only be done by using an HDMI cable. To keep the CPU graphics on, it solved the problem, but in amd, this is not the case, for the sake of simplicity, the prime z390a motherboard is not compatible with 9th generation CPUs without F, and when using separate/independent graphics cards, it becomes a problem and freezes Even with the update of the last version of the motherboard BIOS, which is now 2004, it has not been solved.

Hi @smyasin ,

there're few questions that need to confirm to you.

  • Is Intel ME updated to the official version 12.0.81.1753v4?
  • How many PCs/boards  are facing this issue?
  • If you set the BIOS to default settings, did the issue still occur?
  • When using an external card, is it connected through HDMI or another port?

Please help confirm above questions. Thank you for the cooperation.

Hello ; Thanks for the reply again!

- Yes, I used the latest version of Intel ME on the official site of the motherboard and it didn't make a difference! (Version: 12.0.81.1753v4).

- I currently only have ASUS Z390A; In the past, the same problem almost existed in ASUS Z370A-ii motherboard.

- I tried all settings on default; I even removed the battery of the motherboard, but the performance was still the same and there was no difference.

Thanks for the support

Hi @smyasin ,

very appreciate your information.

There's still one question, when using an external card, is it connected through HDMI ( like you connectRtx2060) or another port?

Have you try to cross test with other port?

Thank you.

Hello ; Thank you, yes, I tested with other ports, I used HDMI and DVI ports on the 2060 graphics card and this problem still existed, and I even used VGA ports on the older graphics card, such as the Asus GT 740 graphics card.

Hi @smyasin ,

thank you for the reply.

We'll forward your information to relevant department.

Thank you.
