MB16ACV

Dovidel
Star I

I have set up the MB16ACV to work with my Surface Pro 8, but I have no idea how to charge the Zen Screen or to see it charging or its time left. I thought I could plug it into the wall with an adapter but I got an error message. The menu button does not show an input device or charging feature. So I am stuck. Can someone instruct me what to do for charging? Does it charge via the laptop and drain power from the Surface Pro 8 or any other laptop? This is frustrating. Thank you.

Hi @Dovidel ,

apologize for the delay in response. Regarding the MB16ACV, it supports both power and video transmission and is compatible with any laptop that has USB-C or Type A ports.

If you need to charge it, you can simply connect it to any device that supports Display Port and has a battery. The connection method is shown in the diagram below.

As for the battery level display, since the ZenScreen itself doesn't have a built-in battery, it relies on the laptop to provide power and transmit the video signal. As long as you connect your laptop to the monitor using a USB Type-C cable, it should provide both power and video transmission.

Thank you.

I understand, bur why doesn't it have a power monitor icon to show it's power level, and does it drain the laptop Surface pro 8 battery power?

Hi @Dovidel ,

based on your issue, the MB16ACV monitor does not have an internal battery, which means it relies on the laptop or device it's connected to for both power and video signal transmission. Consequently, the power provided to the monitor is drawn from the laptop, and the laptop's power distribution also affects the monitor.

Since the monitor doesn't have its own battery, it doesn't have a standalone battery level display. Instead, it typically displays power-related indicators, such as whether it's powered on or off.

Thank you.
