Lower the priority of the charging LED status such that missed messages and phone calls will blink the LED, while the phone is charging. I got spoiled with another popular phone brand running an earlier version of Android. From what I've read, Android 12 holds the battery charge status as highest priority meaning that no notifications will show up while the phone is on the charger.
Aside, the placement of the notification LED and sim tray on the bottom of the Zenfone 8 is brilliant.
