Asus Prime 4070 super fans on full speed before boot but doesnt slow down

when i start my computer, the fans are always on max speed before the driver kicks in. Before windows boot, in the bios. how do i get the card to shut up? its not for a few seconds, but it keeps going until the driver starts. this is especially evident when i recently pass through my graphics card to a qemu kvm on linux. when i boot into linux, the vfio driver grabs the gpu and because of that, the fans are fully ramped up until i boot up the virtual windows machine with my nvidia drivers installed.

Hi @donuts136 ,

we sincerely apologize for the issue you're facing and appreciate your patience. Due to the recent holiday, we were unable to respond promptly.

To better assist you with your graphics card fan running at full speed issue, we recommend that you try the following steps:

  1. Check BIOS settings: Press the BIOS entry key (usually Delete or F2) during boot to enter the BIOS setup utility. Set the initial state of the graphics card to low power or balanced mode, rather than high performance mode.
  2. Update graphics card driver: Please visit the NVIDIA website to download and install the latest version of the GeForce Game Ready driver.
  3. Check power connection: Ensure that the graphics card power cable is securely connected.
  4. Monitor system temperature: We recommend using monitoring software to check the system temperature, especially the graphics card temperature. If the temperature is too high, it may be a heat dissipation problem causing the fan to run at full speed.
  5. Adjust power settings: In Windows power settings, set the power management settings for the graphics card to maximum performance in high-performance mode.

Thank you.
