Improvements and requests

This thread is for everyone to list all the things they'd like fixed or improved. Ideally Asus can set up a voting system so they know the biggest things we'd like to see our improved on the Rog Phone 2 but this will do for now.

VoLTE and VoWifi support. Smaller manufacturers like Razer and the Land Rover phone have it and they weren't sold by carriers so there must be a way to make it more universally compatible or allow us to unlock the feature with a GSM code.
A space between the bottom of the phone and the keyboard to make it easier to type. Have a look at what Samsung do on the S10 for inspiration.
Fix the YouTube bug where the initial overlay (rewind, play/pause, fast forward) stays on until you click the X. In every other phone it automatically fades and disappears after a few seconds.
We're using Gboard keyboard developed by Google. The feature you want is available in swiftkey which works just as well as Gboard
Can you please record this because I'm not sure what you're talking about. My guess is that this is a bug that only you have or that it has already been fixed in the latest beta (which I have on my ROG Phone II).
Enable video to switch between cameras when videoing.
Thanks for responding, as you can see from the video the overlay only disappears if I click the X in the bottom right which isn't normal behaviour.
Good suggestion, it's not as good as Gboard which I love but having height adjustability is a godsend. On the S10 I can use Gboard and have height so it would be a great feature to have that for such a tall phone too.
And for God sake @Anders_ASUS pls fix the setting bug which is really annoying in Zenfone 5z whenever we open settings and go to storage the phone lags like anything .pls fix this
I agree with this one. ASUS is a big company and it is really strange that smaller manufacturers can support VoLTE and VoWifi. This is really the only thing tarnishing what would be considered a perfect phone.
ASUS should make a deal with North American carriers and offer the ROG Phone on T-Mobile and AT&T. Though an underdog in the smartphone department, ASUS is a massive consumer electronics company that should have some leverage over deals.
Might want to contact Google.
I've been in the GBoard Beta for a really long time. But the ROG Phone II is listed as not compatible with GBoard.
We have this feedback from ZenFone 6 and it's definitely something we're looking at. It won't work with 3rd party apps but it's technically possible in our camera app. The only question is how well it should work. There are a lot of complications when doing this change after the product is finished. Like different format and color. The image might freeze for up to 0,5 second when it switches and stuff like that.
No, it's not normal because you have enabled grandpa mode in the Accessibility settings (Settings -> Accessibility). Make sure you have both Accessibility Menu and Switch Access turned off.
I just found out you can do this with Gboard too. Click the three dots and make the keyboard floating. Then you can move it where you want it
I don't know about this bug but since ZenFone 5z will get Q soon, I'm pretty sure it won't be a problem anymore. And please don't write about ZenFone in the ROG Phone II section
I'm not saying that we will never have VoLTE with someone like T-Mobile but we can't just enable it. Discussions needs to be held, papers signed, field testing, more papers. It's up to each local office to make deals with the carriers in their country. Even if we want to enable VoLTE with a certain carrier, it could be that this carrier has demands that are simply too high for us.
Look again. They fixed it.
Since this is a gaming phone, another improvement I could think of would be to collaborate with game developers to better optimize their games on the ROG Phone II. Maybe do some collaborations with game developers so that more games can run smoothly in 120fps using ROG hardware. I play Nintendo Mobile games like Dragalia Lost, Mario Kart Tour, and Pokemon GO for example and it would be great to see them say that their games support 120Hz displays.
Thank you that's fixed it!
We're already doing this
We have Asphalt 9, Shadowgun Legends, ROCKMAN X DiVE and more games coming up in the following months. With that said, it's not going to be more than a handfull. Collaborations take a lot of time as it takes two to tango. There has to be something in it for the developer, there is a lot of legal stuff that needs to be sorted and so on. It would be nice if all we needed was a handshake but that's not how reality works.
I know you have looked at our list of games that support 120fps. Some of them are really good. I recommend Blade Bound: Hack and Slash of Darkness Action RPG. It's a relatively unknown but very beautiful game that runs so smooth on ROG Phone II.
