On A9? What firmware version?
Also, check if you are on the latest firmware.
Screen automatically turning off seems like a screen timeout settings. Check that first.

Go to setting => System => About => Software information.
Also, please elaborate what kind of Battery charging problems are you facing?
Screen automatically turns off - Have you tried Factory reset after update? How does the screen comes back on? After restart? Also, what's the frequency of the issue?
