I have accidentally deleted all the ogg files and now I don't have the cool sounds anymore
Any idea how can I get them back? Maybe a factory Reset? I need a solution quickly @Christine_ASUS @Gustav_ASUS @ARP
Yes factory data reset should help to fix your problem. Ifnot than please try to flash full firmware again and see if that helps.
If Flashing full firmware is not possible for you than take your device to nearest service centre.
Note:- please dont forget to backup your important data before you submit your device to nearest service centre.
Are you sure,I mean someone could share the files with me correct? Someone could copy them here and then let me download them, you know the full force .ogg audio files,it's not that hard to do,I really don't want to just erase all my data
Maybe the next firmware update will add them back?
If you think so than you can wait until next FOTA but i think reset or flashing are both just instant solutions.
How do i flash the newest firmware? Won't that just create copies of all my previous firmware updates or even erase my data? What should I do?
Flashing firmware manually is very risky and i recommend it to you on your own risk.
Yes data backup is required as you will loose all your data as this process is for fresh firmware installation.
I just did some research on google and i found some steps to do it manually if you wish to do it than please go thoroughly through this article before you start anything any wrong step may cause damage👇
if this article is hard for you to understand than there are many videos helping guides on youtube as well as internet which should surely help you out you can try those.
Note:- If you wish for some smooth flashing i suggest you kindly take your device to nearest service centre and they will surely help on this matter and do it for you worry free.
Also i see that ROG 3 got new update i.e. .131 try to update and check once if your problem is solved before you try reseting or flashing firmware.
If you want help regarding flashing, I can assist you.
Are you using a tencent version or the global version?
It is the global version and a legit unitI
I just need these .ogg files attached in here so I can perhaps add them back
Well, you need to look for someone who has a rooted ROG 3 or has TWRP installed so they can pull the .ogg files on it.
I think they are at music on file manager,do check them out,i don't think it needs rooting
Are you sure you really know what happened? .ogg files are embedded in the system files which is read attributed only, you can only delete the internal sounds (.ogg) files if you have root access.
But I didn't root and yet I did delete them,I don't get it tho,why would they leave them out in the open...but I guess I have options, besides if someone can just attach them here, that would make it a whole lot easier
Or even convert them to MP3 files
@GREEKLEADER Sorry for reviving an old thread like this, just wanted to check if your issue was solved by updating to the newest firmware?
Thanks, but it did not,I still haven't found a safe way to get them back,I'm guessing factory reset is my only option...
@GREEKLEADER Just make sure to backup any personal data before you do. May I ask why you decided to delete the .ogg files in the first place? 😄
Well,I kinda wanted my phone's super clean, and well,I umm looked into the files and saw some .ogg files, and I thought that they were cached audio files for the ringtones, and well I cleared them...and now I don't have those special sounds anymore
But I do hope a factory reset will bring them back since they were system files
