Software support is all that matters . Asus zenfone 5z was launched on android 8 and the phone has received 2 major android upgrade and is in near the end of the software support.and those 730g at 16,999 or g90t @15999 are released in the latest version of android so those phone's will receive feature update's , security patch update's and major android upgrade for two years from now on . Most companies discontinue their devices after they have launched the successor to the device or in the near the end of the software support.
