Netflix DRM Widevine Quality Issue

Dester
Star II

Netflix showing Widevine L3 and this results in 480p SD resolution for content.

It should be Widevine L1.

Hey @Dester,
Try deleting the app data & cache and see if it helps.

Also, try reinstalling the app. It should help resolve the issue.

Hello,

I did all of it. I also rebooted the device. On first start of the app it showed L1

But I am unable to play any content. I either get an error saying "it can't be played right now" or I get logged out immediately.

After I restart the app a few times playback works again but I'm back to L3.

Hey @Dester,
Since you mentioned that your phone is rooted, it can cause Widevine to lose L1, so you can't play Netflix in HD.

Hello,

I thought so too but that also happens if I unroot the device or hide root from Netflix. Additionally Widevine Testing Apps show me the device is on L1. It is only Netflix that seems to have a particular issue with Zenfone 9.
