I believe something is causing the mic to be constantly stuck in low quality mode outside of the asus sound recording app.
I first noticed this in Discord, and subsequently in Chrome and during phone calls, and found people complaining on reddit about Whatsapp and other apps having the same problem. The asus sound recorder app has a setting to toggle between high or low quality, but it only affects that specific app.
It appears the default for all other apps is low quality, which is a shame, as the microphone is genuinely of great quality but you wouldn't know it in daily use.
I am on the latest software update, but not in the beta program. If this is fixed in the beta program, please let me know ❤️
