Can't transfer Messages

I can't transfer Google Messages from the S23 Ultra to the Zenfone 9 using Asus Data Transfer, both phones are using the same Google Messages App. I have tried many times with failed results.  My Zenfone 9 has the latest update ending with .113, the phone is not rooted and it happens all the time.
