Add smaller digital clock widget or allow resizing it

The only digital clock widget available is 4x3 which takes up almost half the screen. Just to get around this annoyance, I installed google's clock app from playstore which has a smaller widget option which can also be resized. Disabled Asus clock app to remove confusion.

Why can't Asus do the same as other phones or just preinstall google's clock app if really can't?

Same question. I don't even have an ability to make vertical borders smaller than on screenshot.
