Can anybody explain why we can't zoom on 50MP? Also what's the point of having a 50MP if we can't use it to its full capacity?

IMX766 used Quad Bayer/Pixel Binning.

So you can take photo full res 50MP 1.0µm, when you zooming it will be 12MP 1.0µm. In standrad/default mode is binned to 12MP 2.0µm.

You need to understand how Quad Bayer/Pixel Binning works.
