ASUS today announced that the latest Android 12 upgrade will be available for the ZenFone 8 series commencing in December, 2021. This will be followed by upgrades for the ROG Phone 5 and 5s series in the first quarter of 2022. The upgrades for the Zenfone 7 series and ROG Phone 3 series are expected during the first half of 2022.

This update inherits the major functional changes introduced in the official version of Android 12, as well as continuing the popular ASUS battery- and performance-management features. For Zenfone models, it also includes ZenUI-specific changes that allow easier navigation, streamlined control panels, increased visibility for better control and more customization options.

ASUS has already recruited Zenfone 8 users for the Android 12 beta testing program. The beta program will help identify and fix bugs based on real user experiences before the final software is rolled out in December.

There is a adage...

Better to Remain Silent and Be Thought a Fool than to Speak and Remove All Doubt

Now for Asus... If you just cant make it on time - dont make it public.

Best wishes to all amateurs devs on Asus team.

hmmm Android 12 is a bit of a step backwards in the UI sense to 11.
It feels very much like a Microsoft Windows Phone.
also found a bug where you cant remove the quick settings icons from the list.
seems to have sorted its self out, however those huge buttons for quick settings is just plain stupid

When you press and go to the recent apps button the page is not transparent, which makes it look very very ugly.
But yeah the whole UI is very ugly, its very Windows phone like and has gone backwards for user experience in my opinion.

Also Antutu benchmark has gone down from around 750,000 on Android 11 to about 550,000 on Android 12..so I dont know whats going on there

Did you wipe cache/dalvik cache after update or Asus automatically do it?
