Phone doesn't switch on - charging icon displayed on-screen

Hi all, I returned home yesterday with ~16% battery so I switched it off overnight as the charger&cable were not at hand. I woke up this morning, got charger&cable, plugged all in and the phone showed the green charge icon on-screen, but it won't switch on. Still displaying the icon, regardless if I plug it in or not.
Suggestions?

You should have the message "Press and hold power button to start the phone" appearing !

It seems like your phone is alive but not awaken ...

Nope, no messages. Just the green charing status icon as it's in the picture in the opening message (but it looks like it's frozen).

Holding long-press on the power button does not turn the phone on - I assume this is the problem you are facing?
What happens if you long-press Power + Volume Up together?

1) correct 2) nothing.
Luckily the issue solved itself after almost 10 hours on the charger - I tried to switch it on and magically it was working; I was actually pressing all the buttons at once in a moment of desperation - not sure if that turned the phone on, or else. But it has been working fine ever since.

Great that the issue resolved itself.
