If you still want to access NTFS drive, there are ways to do so.
Microsoft exFAT/NTFS for Android | Paragon SoftwareI use this method to read my external HDD which is in NTFS format.
You can get with the free version, no need to buy the pro version.

ZenFone 6 does not support NTFS. It should ask you to format your drive but you're saying that it doesn't detect you pendrive at all which makes me think it's incompatible

Well, my 2016 OnePlus 3 supports NTFS hard drives with ease. No issues whatsoever. If they can, i guess Asus should also implement this on 6Z.
