Hello,
I've inserted two SIM cards from two various carriers/operators into my new Zenfone 11 Ultra, but even after enabling VoWiFi for BOTH the SIM cards in Settings, VoWiFi got activated only for SIM2 at beginning, and SIM1 kept running exclusively via GSM. After enabling Airplane Mode, SIM2 stayed correctly online via Wi-Fi network.
Disabling/re-enabling SIM cards in any combination within Settings made no effect as to make SIM1 working.
First I thought that the SIM1 card (or carrier) was to blame. But then I've tried the following:
This solved my issue for SIM1, and VoWiFi got activated immediately after boot-up. And not just this, after re-enabling SIM2 in Settings, even VoWiFi@SIM2 blipped in status bar and got working within Dialer app. So I've had two VoWiFi indicators, both working via VoWiFi as expected.
However, it did not fix my issue completely. E.g. after enabling Airplane mode, it is only SIM1 now which stays online over Wi-Fi network. So all I think is, they did really only swap some their internal priority after my workaround described above. Like if there's internally some List<SIM> data structure for handling multiple SIM cards, but only the first/last item gets handled or processed. And whatever element got added as the first (or last), only this one actually works.
To be full, when in Airplane mode I do a phone restart, none of the SIM cards gets online through local Wi-Fi network after boot-up. I have to disable it, then they (eventually) both connect to VoWiFi simulteanously. But after re-enabling Airplane mode, SIM2 gets disconnected, SIM1 stays online.
Firmwares affected:
V34.1420.1420.477
V34.1420.1420.488
I live in area with weak signal coverage, hence VoWiFi feature is really important for me. And being in Airplane mode saves my battery significantly when I'm at home.
Hence I would be really grateful, if the developers could look into it.
I may provide any kind of log as to help to isolate the issue upon your instructions.
Thank you.
