LE Audio (LC3)

I got my Sony WH-1000XM6's in today and was really excited to try out the LE audio, specifically auracast. Thought the zenphone is "compatible" with LE Audio, I'm not having any luck getting it to connect correctly. It tries to pair and transmits audio, but it appears to be having some trouble negotiating the LC3 codec as the audio is extremely garbled and not at the right frequency.

It's bizarre, because even though it is in this semi-connected state and is transmitting audio and communicating with the sony "sound connect" app, the bluetooth manager still just continually says "connecting". Not sure if anyone else has had any luck with LE Audio on this phone, but I'd be curious of your thoughts.

Also worth noting, the headphones worked flawlessly in LE Audio on my partners Pixel 9pro.

Hello @pfdang

I just tried what you mentioned and I could not recreate your issue, I connected them through the Bluetooth manager and it appeared as a LE variant of the headphones.
Could you please try the following?
1. Go to the Bluetooth settings and search the headphones and select to forget the headphones.
2. Set the headphones to pairing mode.
3. In the Bluetooth search, does it appear a XM6 model with LE? In that case select that.

Let me know if it works for you!

I have done that, and it also shows up in the "Sound Connect" app as being LE connected with the LC3 codec.

Though "audio" is coming through, it is garbled. It shows up in the bluetooth settings as "connecting" perpetually.

I have a couple of steps that you can try if those steps didn't work.

If I disable LE Audio mode in developer options, it turns off the option to enable LE audio in Sony's Audio Connect app (again making LE audio non-functional).
