Hello Blake,
I just received a response from ASUS support (as far as I know my initial query was escalated with your technical department), and what I was told is the following:
"The team has advised that none of the S533 models come with sRGB 100% from factory. It states that you can reach up to 100% sRGB. This may be possible with a panel calibrator tool."
This is just ridiculous and simply incorrect!
Color gamut (sRGB/NTSC coverage) has nothing to do with calibration and has everything to do with the physical properties of the screen. If the screen is not able to reproduce 100% sRGB color gamut, it will not, no matter what you do to calibrate it. By calibration, you can improve color accuracy, yes, but you cannot expand the color gamut.
https://www.reddit.com/r/laptops/comments/g21wte/is_it_possible_to_calibrate_srgb_of_a_screen_to/Also, to be exact, this page clearly states 100% sRGB (not up to 100%):
https://store.asus.com/us/item/202010AM150000008So does this page: https://www.asus.com/Laptops/For-Home/VivoBook/VivoBook-S15-S533/
So, if none of your S533 screens come with 100% sRGB, this is just deceptive marketing and is misleading for potential buyers such as myself.
Plus, according to the Specs page: https://www.asus.com/Laptops/For-Home/VivoBook/VivoBook-S15-S533-11th-Gen-Intel/techspec/
The 100% sRGB version of the screen is also brighter (300 nits), while the version with the poorer color gamut coverage (45% NTSC) is only 250 nits.
I do realize you sell different configurations through different channels in different regions, and you're asking me to "check the availability"? But the availability of what? I'm looking specifically for an S533 model with a 100% sRGB screen as advertised on your website. How can I check the availability if I don't even know which exact model configurations have this screen (e.g. S533EQ, S533FL, S533EA, etc.), nor which countries they're available in?
