CH_ASUS5GHz isn't better? Wow. I couldn't get more than 62 mbps in 2.4GHz whereas i get 380 mbps in 5GHz. I don't understand how it isn't better! And for your information, other phones I have connect to 5GHz when i turn off and turn on wifi again. Whereas my ROG 2 doesn't. So I think something's wrong hereThere really seems to be nothing wrong here.
5GHz isnt specifically better, as you have also expressed, even saying so far as you dont get coverage in a particular room.
The device prioritises the connection it had - and if the signal is not weak below a certain threshhold it would remain on it.

mr.strangeSpeed is only one parameter to consider, signal strength is another. You'll know that 2.4 GHz provides coverage at a longer range than 5 GHz, which might have the effect that your 2.4 GHz connection is considered more stable even when you pass your hallway.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/174256#Comment_174256

Gustav_ASUSBut I'm literally in front of the router,so both the bandwidth will have the same signal strengthhttps://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/174699#Comment_174699

mr.strangeIt seems like you don't know how signals work i guess? If you are in front of a router, the other one of course will be further away (doesn't it?). Since THE phone prioritize more stable connection it decides to connect to the one that it think it is better to be connected. And, a phone will connect to a wifi that is mainly used more.https://zentalk.asus.com/en/discussion/comment/174713#Comment_174713
