No Android 10 yet and its already mid December

Not applicable
I honestly don't know what Asus is thinking and doing with the ROG Phone 2 as their Asus 5z also got android 10 update as well as the 6Z also got it but this is very shameful that the ROG phone 2 is left behind where all the competition has rolled out android 10 to their flagships but Asus is sleeping somewhere.
If we can't get updates on time then what's the meaning of flagships and investment so much of money into a specific device where we have many options in competition where we feel cheated as customer that we are left behind for updates.

Thanks for pointing it out. But correct me if I'm wrong. Isn't Project Mainline is only for phones which ship with Android 10? Seen this on several Reddit discussions.

Btw I was asking minimum update period information like what Nokia, Sony, Pixel provide. For example Nokia promises 18*months of Android updates and 24* months of Security updates. Similarly Sony has 24month update policy.

Help me know if Project Mainline replaces these timeline promises.

yea I know what you meant but I don't think he can give you a guarantee on that security part...and every company is different.
I am not sure what is written on reddit and if Anders say ROG phone II is going that route then it is going that route. but using common sense...I think any device that is going to get upgraded will get that same treatment. Would not make sense to have device on android 10 and not have the same benefits as the device that shipped with it.
The whole idea is to minimize and streamline the process so that they can get the update to us on time. Would be odd if lets say a certain company still needs to hire a bunch of coders just because they are on android 10 but without project mainline ?
I don't know this is just what I think but I may be wrong too.

ROG Phone II will use Project Mainline just like ZenFone 6 which means that security updates are pushed out separately.

We wish we could update all phones to Android 10 in one go but we can't. If we had focused on ROG Phone II first, then all ZenFone 6 customers would have been angry or all ZenFone 5z if they had to wait.

Android 10 is coming so please relax, it's basically around the corner. The beta testing has just started and now we have to find and kill as many bugs as possible.

A lot of users thinks that when Google has released a new version of Android, then all we have to do is to add our wallpaper, some minor tweaks and we're done. This is so far from the truth. It still needs A LOT of work from a big software team before it can be realised. Even the Pixel phones doesn't use the same code as the one they release to manufacturers. Luckily we can reuse a lot of the code from ZenFone 6 in ROG phone II which means that it has already gone though some beta testing but new bugs will of course emerge since they are not identical.

Let's just hope that there are not too many bugs because the time frame is decided by when it's stable enough to be released

why does asus call it a flagship if it doesn't have man power to work?
Other competitors have already rolled android 10 to their device, hell samsung has also released android 10 which had a bad reputation for updates from ages but don't know when asus will find time to develop their so called BUG FREE UPDATE, just look at the market where asus stands in after sales service!
Coming to the topic you're not providing monthly security patches which makes our device secure from different bugs you're not even paying attention to security of devices then what we can expect from your side to release latest Android on time!
Having project treble also doesn't change the story for you because you're so slow with your service that makes us annoyed as customer who is putting faith in your company.

I agree we should get Android 10, 11, etc. But Why is the hurry in here? Do we have any major drawback in Android 9 comparing Android 10? Even Google pixel has more bug in Android 10. You can check in pixel community.
Rog 2 Android 10 beta has been rolled out so lets have some patience.
@Asus, could you share the schedule/road map for android 10 release. Atleast with that information people will be happy. Note: Other brands always share the schedule with users which is not happening here.

You didn't even read my comment, did you?

I was asking about frequency and duration commitment of security updates.

He did said it. After android 10 update. Security will be pushed by Google and not Asus. So theoretical security update will be available for all Android 10 as Google make it available. This is why everyone is asking for Android 10. All Asus update after 10 is just interface feature and bug fix. This will give them time not to rush FOTA for the security update
