Minimum brightness is too bright

For God's sake, why is it so high even at minimum level? Is there any official reason like technical restrictions? It really bothers me.even much more than red tint issue.

Apparently, this is the minimum that the display can do. But you have a point, it is really too bright at the minimum.

One way they could make the screen darker is by putting a transparent overlay over everything. You lose a bit of image quality this way though. Since every other pixel will be off.
